The swearing-in ceremony, held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Sunday, witnessed BJP leader Rajnath Singh extending greetings to other leaders as they assumed their respective roles within the government.
Modi, 73, now equals the achievement of Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first prime minister, by winning elections in 1952, 1957, and 1962.
Prior to the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi hosted a customary high tea for members of Parliament who were to be inducted into the Cabinet and Council of Ministers. This gathering took place at his residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in the national capital.
